You had such good intentions at the beginning of the year. 2025 was going to be the year that you finally got things together. Perhaps you had planned to get a new job, start dating properly, make changes to your lifestyle to be healthier, whatever….
But it’s now September and you can’t understand where all those months have gone and you’ve done NOTHING to change your life for the better! Perhaps you find yourself saying things like “You’re useless, why can’t you ever get anything done!” or “Failed again, nothing good ever happens to me” or even “You don’t deserve a better life!”
Don’t despair, there is still time to find your motivation, make changes in the direction you want to go and achieve some results before the end of the year. Hypnotherapy and EFT /tapping can be really effective ways of discovering what is holding you back, what blocks you are putting in your own way, and then of changing your patterns of thinking to something more helpful and of boosting your self-esteem and self-confidence so you really believe that you deserve the changes you want to make and you have the ability to do it.
I often find that both for myself and my clients, September is a very good time to begin achieving things in your life. Summer can often be a time for re-evaluation as we give ourselves time to actually step off the daily treadmill (those hours spent on a sun-lounger) and begin to notice how we are feeling and what we do actually want. In fact, it can be a better time than the beginning of the year for making change. After Christmas we are often exhausted from preparations, hosting, partying, cooking, the days are dark and dreary and the motivation for changing can very easily slip away. But in September, we are often rested and relaxed from holidays, the days are still long and light and we can picture what we want from our life.
These are some of the things that I’ve found people worry about at this time of the year:
• “I’ve wasted so much time!” this summer, this year, this decade and how can I get on the track I want to be on?
• “My child has just started a new school/university and they feel anxious and scared. How can I help them to cope?”
• “My boss is putting pressure on me to get results before the end of the year and I’m afraid I will fail! I’m already feeling stressed and anxious about it! What if I’m not good enough to do my job?”
• “The days are getting shorter and I’m beginning to feel very low. What can I do to help myself copy with another winter?”
Well, the good news is that hypnotherapy and EFT are very effective ways of tackling these kinds of problems and many of my clients have faced these kinds of questions and been able to achieve the goals they set for themselves with my help.
Hypnotherapy is very effective in helping people to motivate themselves to take up new, helpful habits, to improve their self-esteem and self-confidence, to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with new, helpful thinking and to cope much better with stressful situations.
EFT/tapping is an excellent way to identify the blocks you are placing in your own way and remove them, to identify and work through difficult triggers in your life and to learn a tool for managing stress and anxiety so they don’t loom large in your life.
